Jovi Baby sweater with the back completed and the letters charted and done. This was my first attempt at using a chart or doing letters or intarsia as well. I was not as bad as I thought it would be and I was pretty impressed with how it came out as well. I love this and I really hope my sis and bil do too. Posted by Picasa

All my goddies from Carol's Country Yarns in Houlton. I forgot to include the Sheepy tape measure from Lantern moon in the pic. This was little shop but I was very impressed and they were great to me too. So helpful and nice. They have a frequent buyer card that you get stamped and he was all out of them the day I went. So what did he do? Go home print some more up and personally deliver it to my Aunt's house saturday morning for me. Talk about customer service. (Houlton is a small town and everyone knows everyone else and knows where everyone lives as well so by going in with my aunt he knew her and thus knew where she lived as well so he made a point to bring the frequent buyer card to me the next day. I will definately be going back there.) Posted by Picasa

I was so excited to see my first comment on my blog. Thank you Karyn from http://noeysmommyknits.blogspot.com . Karyn is also my Project Spectrum Post card swap pal. I am so excited to get started as soon as I get home. I have some great ideas planned. I am up in Houlton currently visiting my Aunts and Uncles who live here. I cannot believe that I came up here and forgot to bring my camera. Doh! First thing I did when I got here Friday afternoon was to hit the LYS that I heard they opened up. I was very small but they had some decent stuff. I got the sheepy tape measure from Lantern Moon and I got some Lorna's Laces worsted and Bullfrogs and Butterflies as well. I also made out with some great purple mohair from Berroco. I think I am going to use that as a carry along with my purple haze Bag Smith. I will take pics as soon as I get home and post them the Lorna's Laces is too yummy. I also got the BUST book by Deb Stoller and a book called Mindful knitting. I got a cute little book How to Aggravate a man every thing...and have him beg for mercy, by Christina Arneson and Teresa McMillian. It is very cute. I brought the Jovi Baby sweater with me to work on and I got the back half done was ready to start the letter charts and found that I did not bring the silver with me for the letter. Another Doh! I got a very cute mini tote bag from Wal-Mart on clearance will make a cute small project bag. I got the purple washcloth done and the natural one as well now I am doing a purple and natural striped one. I also got some very cute other books as well. More to come later....

I'm such a bad mommy This is like a mini sized porch swing. But it is for dogs. I was at my mother's office and Lana was fussy so I laid her on this and swung her. She fell right asleep and got comfy next thing I know she's got one leg hanging off and is all chilled out. She slept here for quite a while too without budging. The doxies were jealous and upset that she was on their swing but a crying baby outranks dogs right?  Posted by Picasa

Here is the Crystal Palace Cotton Chenille I got blue, purple and natural white. I am using the purple and natural white to make washcloths to give to my sister for her baby due in April, I have been wanting to do the Cuddle toys pattern as well but did not want to pay shipping up to 5 dollars on a pattern. So when I bought the cotton chenille from City Side I asked about it we did some reasearch and were able to come up with and order catalogue for her to order the pattern thru her shop for me. I was so happy about this. I much prefer to give my local LYS and all my local stores business as opposed to going elsewhere. I don't mind ordering of the net when I cannot get something local but I do try to go local first. I am glad I did as now she is ordering the pattern I can get it from her and on top of that other knitter in Bangor Maine can now get the pattern here too with out as much leg work and searching as I have had to do. That really makes me happy. They have a Thursday knit table time at the shop and I would love to go but I also feel funny about just going and showing up and being alone as well. I am so wierd about stuff like that. Maybe once the pattern comes in I will go and work on it there so they can see it too and maybe I will make one and give it to them so they can have it on display. But I do need to talk to them about getting a bigger selection of the cotton chenille in stock as they had these three colors. I took the last natural white, a yellow, a pinkish color, and red. That was all I would love to do one of the cuddle toys in turquoise for my sister she would love that. I will have to ask them if they can get more colors. Posted by Picasa

Little miss thing wanted a hair cut so I took her in to the salon and she got a bob I took a picture of her all staticky from the cold and she was mad at me because her hair was messed up for the picture. Cute isn't she LOL They took about 4 inches off and I didn't think she would do it as she says she wants her hair like my sister who can sit on her hair it is so long but she did and she loves it so that is all that matters. Posted by Picasa

A purple haze purse kit from The Bag Smith I have been wanting to do one of these and this one caught my eye yesterday so I bought it. I normally wouldn't have but hubby was with me as we were on a date day without the chicks (SIL watching them so we could go out to lunch and movie. We saw Walk the Line Excellent movie by the way!!) and we stopped into City Side and he made me buy it and it was on sale and purple my favorite combination. He is so good to me!

The start on the back of the Jovi Baby sweater Posted by Picasa
My flip top mittens got done last night and went to the recipient today for his birthday. Not reallly sure if he liked them but he is not very expressive. I loved them and was so proud of how they came out. I am vorking very dilligently now on baby projects for my sister. The Jovi Baby sweater, now I am going to my LYS City Side Yarn in Bangor to pick up some cotton chenille to do washclothes and then I an going to make some socks and make a topiary out of the wash cloths and socks as well. Her shower is March 18th I hope I can get it all done by then. I am looking forward to a trip to my LYS but I greatly miss the LYS's I had in NJ to go to, Knit n' purl on Route 9 and My favorite Wooly Monmouth in Red Bank. If you are anywhere near Red Bank you have to check Wooly Monmouth out they have great stuff and Dori is so nice and helpful I really miss going there. When I go down for my sister's shower I am going to see if I can take time to run there. I am going with my mother tho so I doubt that will happen as she does not like to make side trips. The selection was so much larger I have a hard time getting what I want up here without ordering it on the internet. I do prefer to suppot local shops and buy from them first but most of the time that is not the case here as they don't have too much. So I think I will have to order the cotton chenille I want from patternworks and then wait for it to ship, which I also hate having to wait for my yarn too. But alas I knew that would be the case moving to Maine. I mean for god sake they don't even carry my makeup in any local stores up here. Seriously not a single one carry MAC. Can you believe that? Oh well at least I know my girls are safe and will be better off for it. Back to work on the Jovi Baby on lovely size 3's it is not going to fast.

My flip top mittens are done I am so happy with the way they came out for my first try at them. See more pics and shots in the FO page. Posted by Picasa

This was the start of the storm Sunday morning. Posted by Picasa

This was the end result of the major storm we were supposed to have had this weekend. 3 inches max how disappointing Posted by Picasa
Well Well Well. I am doing the shell for the fingers on the second mitten. I am kinda of disappointed with it as far as mitten #2 is a bit longer than mitten #1 I have no idea how that happened. It will be ok. I am really the one I'm sure who will notice any difference. They are a birthday gift for my SIL's boyfriend (who I don't really care for anyway, but that is for another post) on Wednesday. Right now I am also working on the Baby's first tattoo sweater out of SNB nation. I am doing silver edges with lion brand micro spun in black as the body of the sweater. I am going to put the star motif on the fronts in silver and on the back I am going to attempt to put Jovi Baby. My sister is a huge Bon Jovi fan and her husband plays in a Bon Jovi tribute band as well. Anyone in the NY/NJ area interested in seeing them play contact me and I will give you their website address for dates. Ok shameless plug over.

I have decided to join Lolly's Project Spectrum and Postcard swap as well. I cannot wait to get started I have the perfect projects in mind for most of the months as well. I love being able to be a part of something with other people and to share different thing with people all over. Not to mention to be able to see the talents that all the others possess in creating things.

I just want to also throw a note in that I am so jealous of all the people who got snow and I didn't. I mean I live in Maine for god sake and we only got maybe 3 inches while others got a foot plus. Its not fair I was all looking forward to getting snowed in and curling up with a cup of black chai tea and my knitting. But alas no snow. Well a little but not enough to called snowed in. So to all others who did get it I am way jealous of you. Back to finishing the shell for the mitten and eating peanut butter oreo's.
