The winner of the quiz contest is Julie! Since all of 3 people took my quiz I put the names in a bag and let K pick one and she picked Julie. Congratulations Julie. I sent you an email so if you can just get back to me with your snail mail as soon as I get home from NJ I will get it out to you. So much for that huh? Well Im off to NJ tomorrow morning. Bringing Brioch and Boogie Baby socks to work on. I will be back friday after we see Superman. Happy crafting.!!

Not too much knitting going on right now. Too much else to do I have to make yet another trip to NJ. This is the 6th one in 2 months. Ugh!. I have made some progress on Mermaid but not enough to tell in a pic. I have also made progress in the simply lovely lace sock. And I started the Brioche Bodice pattern from the latest IK. Will put pic up of those soon.

Now here come some of those pictures that put me in Bad Parent Hell. I know that must be where I am heading not just for the content of the pics but for the fact that I also felt necessary to take the pictures. LOL my kids will love me when they are older!!

So here come some more of the bad mommy pictures. Now in the next two mind you baby is sound asleep. Check it out...........

Isn't life rough for kiddies and kitties?

These are just too cute for words.
They love each other.

My MIL made monkeytoes a sock monkey, and she girled it up. Baby loves this. She lights up everytime she sees it. My MIL is so crafty with a sewing machine I am so jealous.. See the purple bow and dress. Isn't that the most adorable thing. Well aside from the kid :-)

Quiz time
I have so much fun doing other peoples quizzes that I wanted to create one of my own. Anyone who wants to play is more then welcome. I will let it run until Saturday night. Anyone who plays by midnight Saturday 6/24 and gets at least 2 questions right will be put in a random drawing for a beautiful self stripping skein of hand-dyed Cascade 220. Come, play, have fun, win something!

What's this? Could it be? I think it is my package from my project spectrum sock yarn swap pal.
Let's see.......

My swap pal rocked. She sent me these lovely goodies. Beautiful blue cake dyed merino sock yarn. Cake dye how cool is that. I so did not even know you could do that.
This awsome knitting keychain.
A very cool blue note pad and blue beads.
Thank you so much Ashley. You really rock. I love everything and the yarn is beautiful I still can't decide what I want to make with it.

Isn't this the cutest sock monkey you have ever seen? I saw one that my MIL had made for my nephew and I knew my little monkey toe baby needed one, so I asked my MIL for the pattern and she offered to make it for me. How great is she. She even girled it up with a purple ribbon and purple dress. This rocks totally. And added bonus the baby loves it. She laughes, plays with it and talks to it. Life is great.
Side note. The felted Palm sleave is no more. Now it is a cute little felted change pursy thing. I made lemonade and I like it :-)
I do need now to add a cute button or closure of some sort but this works and I am happy with it. Posted by Picasa

Well the Yeehaw lady hat is finished. I hate it. Abso-frikin-lutly LOATH IT! It looks like a comedy hat. It so does not look anything like the picture in the book does. After the hell I had starting this and now it turning out this way I am so done. I MEAN DONE with trying anything. Nothing I have done lately has worked for me. I followed this pattern line by painstaking line. Counting measuring and everything else to make sure it was working and now look at it. It is huge and it looks like a comedy skit hat. Ugh!!!!!! Any suggestions now? The lovely preppie stripe I got from http://knitmamaknit.blogspot.com. I love this yarn. I love the colors of it totally and it felts great. Well stupid me wanted to make a sleeve for my Palm but could not find a pattern. So I measured the palm. Added 10% and knit it up. Then I felted it. Let me tell you this looks great with these colors and stripes felted. That is where the loveliness ends tho.
Tada!! It is too big. Way too big the idea was for my palm to slide in and rest in the bottom pouch then have the sides hug it and the top cover just the top of my palm so that I could use it with out having to keep taking it in and out. But of course this did not work. It is too long. I know I know before you say it. I should have swatched and felted first but, Really for something this small it was like a test swatch, right? Ok lets go from there. Now as I was doing this I did not bother to write down what I was doing or numbers so I don't really remember enough to try to correct this a second time and I am afraid that it won't work a second time. And I love this yarn way too much to keep wasting it. So what is a girl to do....
1. Should I try to remeasure and recount the numbers and do it again?
Cut the bottom off of this one and sew up the sides to make a cute little change-like purse thingy?
OR
2. Should I weave a ribbon thru holes all around it on the edges and the pull it snug enough to fit and hold it in?
OR
3. Take this and the failed Yeehaw lady comedy hat that I do not know what to do with at this point and burn both of them under the full moon. Maybe this will help get rid of my inability as of late.
This you might say is not a failure. Technically it is but isn't. I do like this turquoisey stripy yarn that I dyed. BUT the colors were supposed to be blue for the month of June. As it turned out there was one blue and then a dark teal and like a seafoam color. All in all it is pretty but not what I was aiming for. I think I need a nap. I have been so down and cranky lately. I am normally a make lemonade kinda gal. I don't let things bother me. If something doesn't work out oh well. Lets do what we can and fix it or redo it, or make something fun out of it. Not lately and I don't know why. Also since I have been so shitty and I am not used to being that way, It just makes me mad at myself and that doesn't help either. I think I need to go back to work. I am not used to being home this much and while I do enjoy being able to spend all with the girls. I also crave other adult contact. I will beg and plead my mom and SIL to come spend some time with me to keep me sane. Neither one ever can they are too busy and I just think that maybe if a couple of days a week for a couple of hours if I just get away maybe I will feel better.

Saying that makes me feel like a horrible person. Am I awful to want to work again part-time? Am I a bad mother? I really am beginning to think so. Will my kids grow up and feel resentful toward me that I decided to go back to work? What should I do? Work, or stay home and tell myself it is for the benefit of the kids and get over it. Lots of moms work and still do a great job raising the kids and their kids are ok, probably better than most. My mom worked and yeah I didn't get to do a lot of afterschool activities because of it, but Im ok right? If I go back to work for me and not out of need is that selfish of me? I went back to work when Keats was 6 weeks old because I had no choice. I now have that choice but I feel bad now that Lana is almost 8 months old saying I need to go back to work. UGH now is not the time to contemplate this. Nap. Posted by Picasa
Remember the mug I lovingly and painstakingly painted so I could enjoy a nice big cup of tea or hot chocolate. Well it is no more. That's right a chip on the edge. I am so upset over this. I really loved this mug, and I did not know it very long. SOB! I had it on the table next to the recliner and hubby was holding baby and trying to play X-box. Needless to say he was not paying much attention to baby and she grabbed at it. Knocked it over and it chipped. I wanted to cry. Maybe if it had been an honest accident it wouldn't be so bad. But the fact that the only reason it happened was because he was not paying attention to the baby really pisses me off. Mostly because he does stuff like this all the time. He does not pay attention to anything that he isn't involved in...ie. X-box or TV. I am mostly just thankful that I had just finished my cup of tea and it was empty and no longer hot, or baby would have been burned. Off to figure out what to do with it now. Posted by Picasa

Progress on Mermaid. This is a sad and unfortunate push aside. I don't mean to, really I don't. But I was so excited working on this and it worked up so quickly that I was in awe. But lo and behold the recipient is larger than most 5-6 year olds as the pattern says will fit. So....no fit. And that really killed my steam on this, sad to say. I feel really bad too as she is looking forward to this. Once it is done I will have to add a section on the back to make it larger to fit her. It really is no big deal and It is easily fixed but It just kinda brought me down, ya know. I do still love this pattern tho. See how pretty it looks. It really does look like scales. I am impressed with it and I cannot wait to do Keats with the rainbow ribbon yarn and see how it comes out. But I will not let myself start hers until this one is finished.
I finally figured out the happy hooker Yehaw Lady Hat. I started this and tried to do it about 8 times. It just would not line up and was really irritating me. I mean I should be able to do this. It is only crocheting a hat. I know how to crochet basics so with the help of the Happy Hooker book I should be able to do this. Wrong. 8 count them 8 times I tried and gave up after the eighth one. I figured I just cannot do it, I must be doing some thing wrong. I suck! Well surprise to me. I go to the web site and find pattern corrections. Oh lets see if there is any for the hat. Wow there is! And it is on Rnd 2. Whoa nelly lets back up. Okay check corrections on pattern and try again. Viola` It is starting to be a pink Yehaw lady hat. Check it out.......top view
side view. Not to bad if I do say so myself.

My husband love to check out the local thrift stores. Sometimes he get really good deals. Recently he got an action figure and we decided to sell it on eBay. Lets just say with what he paid we made like 170% profit. Not bad. He finds really good stuff like this all the time. I like these finds and since he is a compulsive thrift store shopper he gets to have his fun too. We all win. Well the wonderful man that he is, he was at the thrift store to day and had the good sense to purchase this.......... 7 Skeins of Lion Brand Suede in Teal. $0.99 a piece. Not too bad. He really is good to me.
This is where they end up when you let Daddy watch them. Don't know what to do with the baby...put her in a tote. LOL she loved playing in this with him. Hide n' seek and peekaboo. It was way too cute to watch. Posted by Picasa

SOB! My little girl graduated pre school today. Yup it is official she graduated pre-k and now gets to move up to kindergarten. She still doesn't know what summer vacation is so she thinks she is starting kindergarten next week. LOL by the time it actually starts she will not really want to go. I cannot beleive that she is almost 5 and that I have a kid in kindergarten this is very hard for me to live with and accept. i am proud and I ma excited to see her develop and grow but i just want to keep her my little baby forever. I'm not ready to see her grow more and more and to say I have a 5 year old. I'm very emotional right now. I have been knitting but barely. Between the emotions and a raging sinus infection I have managed to work a little more on the jovi baby sweater and I am progressing on mermaid. Also I am getting ready to start the felted clutch from http://knitmamaknit.blogspot.com . Here is some pictures of my little graduate and my little monkey.

We went for another mug painting round and this time I tried to make a manley one for hubby. The one with the black sun like the cover to a Godsmack album is mine for hubby whilst the Dory like fish is my SIL's for her BF. Which if you know him it is very fitting as he is a lot like Dory. I know that is mean and I don't mean to be that way but you would just have to know him. Besides she did and made it for him knowing he would not know the signifigance in it so don't judge me.
Sorry if the spelling is horid in this post as I am fuzy right now and the spell check is not working. Posted by Picasa
