Here are my latest test knit sock that I finished. I loved these they came out so pretty and I <3 this yarn unfortunately! I'm thinking I'm done with my test knitting for a bit. I love doing it but I have so many UFO's that I need to get done. Plus I am really wanting to check out the new knitting guild that started here, and they ask for donated items, right now a helmet liner or premie hats. So I am working on a helmet liner, whilst watching all 5 seasons of Weeds, right now. Once that is done I ordered the Fiji Desk getaway kit from KnitPicks and I cannot wait to get started on that as well.

Non Knitting news, I have taken a break from my walking/running program. I have been walking 3 miles a day about 4 days a week. I guess I started off too hard as I ended up with major shin issues. I'm letting those heal right now and then I will start back up slower this time. Hopefully I will not have the pain and I will be able to build up gradually to longer and longer. I have an elliptical at home and a treadmill, there is really no reason why I'm not using one of those whilst waiting to recover except, I am a procrastinator and I will use any excuse in the book to keep from exercising and trying to do it at home something else always seems to come up and keep me from getting on there! I really need something to kick me in butt and get me moving and keep me moving. I have a really hard time with motivation when it comes to exercise. I thought losing 18 lbs would be enough to make me see how good it is and keep me going. Nope, didn't work, I was happy to lose 18 lbs and I felt great and proud of me but it still was not enough to motivate to keep going consistently! I really don't like that about myself, but I'm not sure what to do about it. I was walking with my sister in law and as long as she was around we would both keep each other moving and make each other go, now that she is no longer available (school) I have not gone out by myself once. Not once. I don't need her to go and we both have our iPods on and aren't really talking but just not being alone is enough to motivate me. I have to get out more and try to get some more people who want to do this too and are available at different times so I'm not so dependent on just one person 5 days a week! It is just so hard, but some how I will make it work!

Wow! almost two years that is crazy, crazy crazy! Well here we go again going to try to make this work! I have been a busy bee. I have been doing some test knits for people on Ravelry I have done some more fingerless mittens, I did a ton of hats this year, couple of sweaters and I have been spinning randomly. I haven't done any dying as of late since I prefer to do that out side and the weather up here has not cooperated enough to do that. I have even sewed and embroidered stuff on occasion (with a machine, not by hand)

I have been on a new path these past couple of months to try to bring a healthier and happier life to myself and my family. I have been trying to start up running (shin issues) right now I am walking 3 miles at a fairly brisk pace, trying to eat and cook healthier, and be more Zen all around. I felt like too many things were spiraling out of my control and all of us were grumpy, snappy, sluggish all the time so we (ie me and the girls) are now trying to get out of that funk, be more active, and more proactive about our well being.

Little one is all about the eating healthier, Larger one is all about the being more active, they are both trying so hard and cooperating so well. I'm so proud of them! I was on a roll my self I lost 19.8lbs was walking 3 miles at least 4-5 days a week and eating much healthier. These past two weeks I haven't done a thing! I have been eating bad again and I've only exercised once. That will have to stop! As soon as this sinus infection goes away I will be back at and hopefully pushing a little harder now that my shin issues should have subsided. Wow I haven't blogged in forever. Why? The one possible reader I might have had asks. Well I haven't done anything. Oh don't get me wrong I've been plenty busy, I just haven't done anything fibery. Except finally finish the damn Lil' red ridding hoodie. Yay me! That thing is finally done.

So lets see what else has been going on you ask. Well lots. I have been sick yet again and yes I have actually seen the Dr. If anyone knows me they know I so do not go to the Dr's so it must be bad right? Well they don't know. I'm turning into a radiological pin cushion. Maybe, just maybe before I go postal they will find out why I've been so sick and fix it. On top of that, and oh yeah like 4 more trips to NJ (my sister had another baby) I now have a very adorable nephew. My mom tried to burn the house down with a grease fire. Yup she caught a pan on fire 5 foot flames and all, and my step-dad decided the best way to handle it was to get it out of the house. So on the way out he tripped and sloshed flaming hot grease on his right arm and then fell in the living room. He's OK thankfully, 3rd degree burns all up his right arm and leg, and the rug was toast but all in all it could've been a lot worse. He is doing good his arm is healing so well and he was in good spirits about it. As good as can be expected. My mom took the kids outside when it all started so they were all OK. I was behind my step dad while all this happened so what do I do when I see the rug and paper towels and all on fire. That's right step on it. OK no big deal it will put out small flames. Yeah, yet again anyone who know me knows I live in flip flops. I know you don' t have to tell me how not smart that was I got 2ND degree burns on my foot. Not just my foot but the bottom of my foot. That is so uncomfortable. I know I'm dumb. Its OK we are all OK and except for some minor damage the house is too. Needless to say I have been run ragged helping mom clean as she can't get down on the floor to do it and then helping with everything else and taking care of step dad while mom worked. I haven't had a minute. On top of something being wrong with me and then running to do whatever I can to help them once I clean up after dinner and sit I'm out cold. So that's part of the reason why I haven't done a thing. Oh yeah and all this happened about a week after we finished moving, I still have my formal living room and craft room filled with boxes that need to be put away. Yeah sure. Hopefully things will calm down. I go for another test next week and school starts next week and step dad is doing good on his own now so maybe just maybe I can regain some normal.

I did finish the sweater, but really all I needed to do was the zipper bands and pockets so that was cheating. I have turned the heel on my 2ND jaywalker, and I crocheted some swiffer covers (quick Dr office projects:-) I'm thinking about making the Hallowig from knitty but I don't know if I have the energy right now to start something new. We'll see. That's about all for now, since I actually had some good knitting progress to share I figured I would blog. Once I know what's wrong with me and if I get out of this funk I will blog more then as well.

Sewing!
Yes on occasion I will pull out the machine, dust if off (cuz I don't have the ambition to sew a cover) and make something.

We (meaning hubby and I) Just redid mom's kitchen and she found some material and wanted valances and like shelf curtains so she asked me to do them for her. I figured since I had to get the machine anyway I would attempt a purse I had been wanting to make. I have seen some of the knitting bag/purses and just didn't love any and figured I could try to make my own. Well lets just say I am a rudimentary sewer at best so it didn't come out so great, but at the same point in time not too horrible either.

Toile ( my fav) red duck, and some red black ribbon and this is what I came up with.
There are many, many mistakes but oh well I love it. BTW next time sew the ribbon on the outside parts of the bag before you attach the lining (Sometimes I am really a dumbass) so I had to carefully sew the ribbon on by hand.

I put some cute cherry material for the lining and the some pockets on both sides, and I took my leftover bottom material and made a middle pouch to hold my knitting and keep it free from all the pursy stuff I put some magnetic snaps on the pouch and the bag itself (almost lost a finger doing that) and over all it is just right, a little big for my typical purse but when you do a purse/knitting bag I guess it has to be. It holds all I need on the sides and in the knitting part is my Hedera sock. I call this a success and I have been carrying it proudly.

Knitty's Hedera in Seacoast Hand painted yarns that I got at Fiberphilia. Can't remember what colorway it was but its pretty and I think it Is a bamboo blend.

Some more spinning. This is Spunky Eclectic Swamp monster that my SIL in picked out at SPA She want's a felted laptop cozy out of it. I will be happy to oblige but at the same point in time even tho I am not a fan of green I love this the shading the blending and just the over all quality of it. I really will hate to part with this one. I am so going to have to get more soon to do something for myself out of it as I do love it. It is just plain merino and oh so soft and spongy and pretty.

Stretched out view of the Hedera I think it is ok but I don't know if the pattern detracts from the colors or the colors detract from the pattern. I will have to see. I shortened them down considerable from the pattern and I am making more a pair of springy ankle socks out of it.

Kiki has decided she wants to knit as she is always after me to knit her some washcloths. She loves playing with washcloths. I am not a fan of knittting them myself and I am so not a fan of the sugar and cream crap, so I told her if she wanted some she woud have to learn how to make them. So she did. She is working on her very first knitting proect and she is doing great she really picked it up quick. (sob) I'm so proud of my little girl! I was afraid the crafty gene had skipped her, but apparently it didn't I am so happy!!!

Easter. My favorite Holiday. I love Easter, the coming of spring the bright colors, the egg decorating, everything. I love it. Apparently my youngest doesn't. She was petrified of the Easter bunny. Can you see her screaming? She was doing everything thing she could to get away. Climbing in the buggy, climbing out of the buggy, anything to go away. We tried bribing her, we tried showing her sissy wasn't scared, she wasn't having it.

So Daddy tried a sneak attack. We all got in position and he came up behind the back ground and snuck up. This was the best picture until she realized what he was doing and screamed again. Oh well memories right? It's cute and she will laugh about it when she's older.

Now here's sissy. What a good sport. She was never bothered by these guys. She loved them, even as a baby. They are so night and day but honestly it is so much fun seeing the differences in them.

Some of my own actual knitting,

My fingerless mittens. Why is that I always seem to do projects for others in a day or two but these for me have been over a month on the needles. I have made a half dozen of these mittens and I know I can do a pair in a weekend, so why have these taken so long? That's right they are for me, and others need warm hands more then I do in this snow hell we call Maine. We've had something like 138 inches total snow this season. The worst year of snow since lik 1939. Is it just me or is that nuts? I'm about done with the snow. I don't mind the snow. I like it in small amounts, but this year is crazy. We just got 18 more inches this weekend. We have at least 2 more months of this to get thru. I need warmth!

Fingerless mits to keep my friends hands warm at work. These are Vine by Magknits from Dec '07 in Blue Sky Alpaca and silk on size 3. iIlove them and they look so great on me don't they? I really hated to part with them. But they will have a good home.

My packaging for her. I love Easter. I love decorating eggs I have already started I love it that much.

My latest spinning attempt. This is Spunky Eclectic I so can't remember what color or what type of wool. I think if was BFL. But I couldn't really read what the colorway was (it was hand written) so I never really knew and have since lost the actual label too. It came out nice tho I think. I do like the colors. A little to much for me but the girls will love anything made out of it.

"This is my chocolate!"

I got to go to the NETA 2008 Spa knit and spin weekend yesterday.
I have been wanting to go forever but I hate going alone and I don't have anyone I know who is as into knitting and spinning as I am. Since it was in Freeport this year I managed to convince my SIL to go with me as long as she could hit the shops. She was a real trooper about it too. She walked around with me. She ohhed and ahhed with me and pretended to be excited and love looking at all the fibery and yarny goodness. My payment to her. A trip to the Chocolate Factory. No Problem. As I told her while we were discussing this and walking around looking at all the merchants "This is my chocolate!" I had a blast. There were so many cool things to do and see. There were so many nice people to talk to. I got to meet THE Spunky Ecclectic. I got to meet Dave from The Merlin Tree. I got some more spunky fiber and I got some great Icelandic from a shop in Limerick Maine Frelsi Farmsthat is so cool. She had pictures of the animals the wool came from. I love that it is just so personal. And she was so super nice and helpful too. I brought more home but for right now you will have to wait for the unveiling (not that anyone really reads this anyway).

As for knitting I sent my hat of death off and I got the hat of death. I loved my hat. I did all black Lamb's pride binary cables and I was so pretty. I got a blue and green one. It was very pretty and looked so nice, but what are my two least favorite colors? That's right green and blue. I don't mind, Kiki loves the hat and it looks so cute on her. It just seems that everytime I join something like this I get green stuff. Oh well the risks we take right? It's not that big a deal and everything has always been so pretty, just not me. Good thing the kids aren't picky right now. Oddly enough some of the roving I got from spunky at spa was called swamp monster and was shades of green. I loved it and mostly my SIL loved it so I got it to spin and make her something out of to show my appreciation for going with me. I am also working on finishing my flip-top mittens, I am amking a pair of fingerless mits for friend to wear at work. And I have some lovely seacoast yarns bamboo that will be socks shortly. OK enought for now especially since I don't have any pictures to add as my desktop still not working well.

SPA rocked, I had a nice relaxing day with no hubby, no kids, no mom bitching at me, and it was my heaven and it was my chocolate!

Aren't they just too cute for words?

I spent all day saturday freezing my but off to see Hillary she was up here at UMO. It was worth it. It was interesting I've never gone to a rally before and I was kinda cool. My Hat Attack hat got delayed because of it but hopefully I can catch up before I get killed.

My socks of death have arrived. I got them friday. I guess if I had to go there is no better way. These are so pretty and so comfy. Thanks again to my assassin as I do love them.

My almost sock of death on its way to my assassin to finish and mail out. This was Yarn for Sox on size 5's. While nice and pretty and possibly after washing will soften up they are not comfy. Best of luck to you!

Will this snow ever end?

Don't get me wrong I love the snow (to some extent) and I don't mind it for the most part, but this year we got it earlier then unusal and it just won't stop. It is snowing again today and quite heavy too. We are all sick. The baby got bronchitis and sinusitis the beginning of January and she did good with her meds and was better in a week. About 2 weeks ago she got it again. While we were fighting that the older one comes home from school coughing. Last Friday I woke up feeling horrible. My thoat hurt, my body ached, and I was all snotty. We are all still fighting this for the past week once we get home we just lay around. I kept the older one home from school monday and she was better. Last night she wasn't eating, drinking, nothing. All she wanted to do was sleep and she had a fever. Baby had a fever, mommy had a fever, and daddy had a fever. Obviously we just keep passing it around to each other no matter how hard I try to keep the germs at bay. Ugh! Right now daddy is home in bed sleeping it's almost 11am. Do I get to stay in bed and rest? Nope, everyday I'm up at 6 with the kids and go all day long. He had yesterday and today off from work and he'll sleep all day both days. It's no wonder I can't get better. 4 hours of sleep a day just aint' doing it anymore I guess. Any way knitting.

I have been working on occasion when I can focus and willingly hold my head up. Battle of the Soxes started midnight friday. I have sock #1 done and sock # 2 halfway done. My goal is to have them in the mail by friday at the latest. As I start Hat Attack on friday. Stupid you say? Well I wasn't sick when I signed up for them. I could do it no problem. I started sock #1 saturday and worked on it off and on and sunday it was done. It is now Wednesday and sock 2 is only half way (which makes me mad they should have been mailed by now) but I can only do so much being ill. Thankfully the pattern is a great one from the wonderful Spunky Eclectic and it doesn't take too much thought to work on it.

Wow is that all I've done?
Lets see my last blog was Jan 11. I went to NJ on the 17th and was home on the 21st. I worked on my fingerless mits while there and once back. I've been working, cleaning, being sick, and going to a funeral. I did have to go up to Houlton for the funeral and was able to stop in Carol's Country Yarns and got some great stuff. I'm at work right now so I don't have any pictures and can't remember all the names of what I bought but It was some great stuff. I will update later tonight with it all.

Ok so I have been knitting I just don't have any pictures to upload right now. So here is the run down. for what I did in december.
1. Red ridding hoodie ( working on zipper band all else is done)
2. A pair of flip top mittens for hubby (cascade 220)
3. A pair of flip top mittens for step-dad ( lambs pride worsted)
4. A pair of Kolenya's for SIL (Noro silk garden)
5. A pair of flip top mittens for BIL (Peace Fleece)
6. A pair of flip top mittens for me (Lamb's pride worsted)
7. A stretchy headband i-pod holder for me (can't remember what yarn)
8. River rapids socks (razzytazzy knits on etsy)
This is a blanket my mom made for my cousins baby that was born on the 8th. She made the first one of these when she was pregnant with me. I still have mine too! She makes one for everyone who has a baby and they are great. This one was lovely and so soft. Guess what happened to it.

About and hour after I took this pic I was uploading them to my mom's computer and lo and behold the baby found a bottle of red nail polish. Need I say more? Yup we were not happy. All over her, the rug, and the blanket. I took the blanket home and used Q-tips and nail polish remover and got almost all of it off. I washed it up 3 times with dreft and it looked good as new. I was afraid the remover would ruin or eat thru the yarn but since it was lion-brand it held up really well. Thankfully! So that had been the last month in a nutshell. I am going to NJ next week and once I get the mittens done we will see what to do from there.

Wow it's been a while. So much has happened. Let see my van got hit by an oil truck. It was parked in the driveway across from my mom's house and the truck tried to go up the hill and slid back into my van. Pushed it about 10 feet to the side, busted out the back windows, dented the back door and side and broke the tail light. OK not so bad could've been worse. At least we werent' in it so its ok. The oil company settled with me and I got the van fixed and all is good. That didn't happen until about the 21st of December tho and he hit me one the 4th of Dec. So that slowed down all my plans and hoilday stuff but ok we worked around it. No big deal. Christmas!

The girls had a blast. They got way too much crap and they were so good. Hams to can't you tell?

I know it is so unfair of me to do stuff like this to my dog but how cute is she?

We got so much snow! There is like 4 feet laying around as we got hit with 4 separate storms that gave us at least a foot each. Last year Lana was petrified of the snow see previous post. This year she loves it! Yea! We went sledding and played and had a blast. Now she has bronchitis LOL

See sometimes they do love each other and aren't trying to kill the other. Must be Tom and Jerry they love these old cartoons. Whatever works for a few minutes fo peace right?

What have I been up to?

Not too much. I've been so sick with a sinus infection I haven't been able to do much of anything. It started out small. I ignored it and it got real bad. By the time i finally went to the Dr's it was bad and i had to go thru 3 rounds of anti's. I'm still not too great now. I've been too ill or too loopy to do much. Plus I ended up with a concusion from being hit on the head with a hammer. I was trying to take it away from Lana and she swung and got me. So knitting hasn't really happend around here as I've had a hard time seeing straight and just felt icky in general.

I am in the middle of clue 5 of SOTS. 7 is out. I tried so hard to not get behind but with being loopy I haven't dared to knit on it as i know I would mess it up and it wasn't worth it to risk having to frog.

Halloween was fun. My Kiki ghost and my Lana super baby.
I have done some mindless knitting as of late. Nothing extrodinary but some.

I made Kiki a pair of mitten. This was some lamb's pride worsted I had stashed and I just made a basic mitten for her.

My Lil' Red Ridding Hood has 2 sleeves, they are sewn and attached and I have picked up all the stitches to start the hood but that's about all the further I've gotten.

I know Lana is modeling the hat but it is one I made for Kiki. This was the Spunky BFL in Tahiti, I think, that I spun and knit a hat up for her with. I'm so happy this is the first actual knit project from my spinning and if I do say so myself it looks pretty damn good. LOL. I really love how it almost stripped and the dark is mostly at the bottom and it got lighter towards the top. I took the last 2 stitches on the 3 needles and makde some short i-cord and just attached loops to the top of the hat. Right now it has a rolled edge but later on I did an attached i-cord edge to tie it all in and keep it from rolling.

See all the hand print turkey's in the background. We made 22 of them. One handprint from each kid and finger painted bodies. 22 of them. Why 22 you ask. Well these will be used a place cards for Thanksgiving dinner. Thats right for 22 people. My head hurts worse thinking about that. I am making dinner for 22 people. Everyone is pitching in yes. But I'm doing the turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes, and two pies. for 22 people. Yup I'm nuts. I also bought a big bottle of SoCo to go with dinner. :-) Wish me luck.

I'm off to try to get the baby to sleep and try to finish off clue 5 so I can start six one day soon.

Completed hint 2. I had to burn bamboo on this one. I sat down friday night to try and finish it I was on row 117 and made it up to 168 from 9pm to 1 am. It had to be done by 12 am CST so i just made it in time. I have hint 3 and am starting that tonight. I love the KAL aspect of this. I have tried to do lace several time and didn't stick with it but having the contests and race feeling is keeping me interested and going on this so this might be my first finished lace. We'll see. I do love the pattern, color and texture so I'm sure I will push myself to do this one.

My secret of the stole hint 1 was completed just in time to start hint 2 today. I'm proud of myself I only had to rip the whole thing out once. Not too bad. The second time it went very smooth and worked up easy and I like the look of it better as well. Now I just have to insert a lifeline before I start hint 2 so that if there are any issues I can save what I've done so far. It's a lovely rainy miserable day here today so I think I will curl up and knit for the better part of the afternoon.

I joined the Secret of the Stole along. Not sure how this is going to work out I've never really done lace and a mystery along so I'm excited to see what happens. This is my test swatch it is Misit Alpaca Lace in Garnet and I still haven't decided on beads. I think these amber ones will look good but not sure. The black get lost and the Ice I think are to too clear. LOL You know what I mean. I will have to see the first clue is being released on the 5th so we will see how I do. Wish me luck!

This is my first half of spinning. Not too great. Not too bad. It is a little inconsistant. Thick in some spots and thin in others but. I'm happy with it. I like the off-ness. It is mine.

Here is batch 2. Much better. Much more consistant. Looks very pretty. Now, do I have to ply the two together? I don't really want to. Can I call it lace weight and do a pattern for the mountain scolf I have from Spunky as well? The original yarn she sent to me for the pattern looks similar to this one. Mine is a little thicker in some spots but overall it is similar. So can I just use this as a single? Is that allowed? Once it is all spun I know I have to set the twist? How do I do that? Just wash and block to dry pulling it tight? Oh well who cares. I spun and it looks good. LOL

I'm sorry I don't have much knitting content today.

I have been working on my ToFutsies Jaywalkers but it is slow I have been so busy I haven't had much time to knit lately. I have turned the heel on sock 1 and I am working down the foot, no progress shot as I left my camera at work and didn't take any lately anyway.

I haven't started my 2nd Hogwarts Swap sock yet for my Ravenclaw partner as I ordered the yarn but still have not gotten it. She did promise me it would ship today so hopefully I will will have it this week and can get working on them still not sure what pattern I'm going to do but I'm wierd that way I have to physically see and touch the yarn first

. It has been way too hot to work on Lil' Red Ridding Hoodie. I know I have to work on it now or I won't have it when it is colder but I'm kinda burned out and tired. Does anyone else get that way? I'm not burned out knit wise per say just in general. At night during my free time I just sit, and stare and don't have the energy to pick up the needles. Mostly because I set such odd standards for myself. Like If I start I have to do 6 pattern repeats and I can only end at certain points in the pattern (mostly so I keep it consistant and when I do pick it back up it is always in the same place pattern repeat wise and I know where I am immediately), but I have been so tired all I want to do is sleep. I sit on the couch at night and watch TV or a movie and I fall asleep, I go to my room and watch TV and I fall asleep, I read a book and I fall asleep. This is not me. I have run for the last 10 plus years on 4 hours a night. I have always done this and they do say that everyone requires different amounts of sleep and some can do it on a lot less. That's me after 4 hours I never felt sleep deprived, It felt like pleanty. But the odd thing is I get about 6-8 hours a night consistantly lately and I am still exhausted. Like I said this is so not me I am always moving, doing something, can't waste time eating and sleeping, there's so much else I can do. So what's wrong with me? Is it just catching up to me? Am I just *gasp* getting old? Should I be worried there is a medical issue? Or is just that hubby is so lifeless and I'm tired of fighting with him to just move let alone anything else that it is wearing on me?

I'm having serious issues and no one to talk to so anyone who happens to come across this blog gets the brunt of it. I'm sorry. It's just that yesterday I was so close to actually commiting murder. REally I am not joking if I had had a weapon I think I could've killed him. I'm tired of doing it all mysel and if I am going to do it all myself, then damnit I will but I will have one less person to worry about. It's not like he's a mean, jerk (ok sometimes he is) but I'm not saying I'm ready to kick him out. I'm just tired. I've tried everything I can think of to get thru to him that I need help, and if he's not willing to help, at least don't leave another mess that he made for me to clean up as well. I don't mind taking care of the kids, and meals, and the house, but when I do that and then come into the living room and he and the kids have trashed it I want to scream. Then when I ask for help I get Yup and he sits there, and sits there, after I've had enough, and I start to just do it myself he starts yelling at me, I was going to do that you didnt' give me enough time, Your doing it wrong, Your wasting time, yadayadayada. Then he gets pissy with me. Granted I know I am bad. I know when I want something I want it now. I'm doing it now I asked for help now not 3 hours from now. But I do not want to nag I am not that way. I ask once. I give him as much time as I can stand and then I just do it. Then he gets mad at me and takes it out on me and makes me feel like shit. So now I just figure it's not worth the fight and I just do it all and let him sit on his ASS after all he works and deserves to enjoy his day off right? For the most part this does not bother me. I want it done and I want it done my way so I just do it. No big deal. But I work, I do have a job, yes it's not too bad of a job, but I take the kids to work with me, then I come home, I clean, I go to the next room and clean, then go back to the first room and clean again, then do dinner, clean dinner, clean first two rooms again, do bath, clean bathroom, clean first two rooms, again and put the kids to bed. So come the weekend when I don't have to "go" to my job I still clean and entertain all the neighborhood kids all weekend. So why does he get to go fishing (oh its too windy your not going fishing today) sleep til 1 o'clock in the afternoon and then sit in the recliner all day, and get mad if I ask for help.

Ok this is how my day went yesterday just to give you an example.
Got woken up at 8 am to phone to tell hubby fishing is off too windy
Baby hears talking wakes up
get up with baby
bake muffins
others kids get up (mine, his neice, and nephew spent the night too)
give breakfast,
clean living room where they all camped out
clean kitchen
do load of laundry
clean girls room and start rearranging the furniture
take out old dresser
bring in new dresser
try to run cable to new TV in their room
can't get it
11 am go to hubby in bed ask for help (Ok I'll get it be up in a min)
Go make lunch for kids
clean living room again
clean kitchen again
give up on cable, do more laundry
shampoo rug girls room
clean living room again
shampoo rug
mop kitchen
It's 1 pm are getting out of that f&*$king bed today?
Do more laundry
make kids beds
clean living room again, clean bunny cage
go out and clean up yard
give kids snack
clean kitchen
put together new bookcase for living room
clean living room, clean cat box
do more laundry
send neice and nephew home
"Can you help me with getting the cable to the girls room?" sure
he putters around outside for about 2 hours and then say's where are my tools. I have to go get them
comes back putters around for another 2 hours and says he can't find the cable, he can't do it.
All this time I'm rearranging my living room for the new bookcase.
Ok the hell with the cable just set up the TV and the PS2 and we're good for tonight.
7 pm him"what's for dinner"
Me "whatever you find figure it out"
him "what are you making the kids?"
me "I'm not you figure something out I'm taking a shower"
Shower, come back out and I could not see my living room floor I kid you not
There were toys everywhere, a whole bag of cheese curls and god only knows what else all over the floor.
So I just look at him
him "What?" nastily
me I just walk away, come on girls tubby time
him "what the f&%$kever"
Me "yup that's about it"

clean living room
10 pm sit down to watch Ice Road Truckers
finish ice road truckers, no knitting either I was exhausted
Tell him clean up the kitchen
Go to bed to read
fall asleep
him waking me up at 1 am "what are you doing dinner hasn't been put away yet"
me " and your hands aren't broken yet clean up and put it in containers"
him "what the f*&^k I have to do everything"
Me "yup you do it all and I've just sat on my ass all day could you please put dinner away for me?"
Roll over and go back to sleep, he came in around 3 am or so.

So I ask you how am I supposed to stay sane. Usually it doesn't bother me I have accepted this is the way life is but everyonce in a while I break and I can't take it anymore. I really have hit the end. I mean I would do it all anyway so what's the difference, right? But the attitude and the bullshit aren't worth it. I know when I hit the point that all I want to do is hole up in my bedroom alone, then there is a problem. But it must just be me. I don't know. I got up this morning went to work, came home, and instead of doing things I know I need to do I think I'm going to take a nap. Maybe later tonight I will feel like knitting.

Again I am sorry to anyone who reads this I know no one wants to read shit like this, but I had to let it out, it has been eating at me for sometime now. Thank You.

So here are my ToFutsie Jaywalkers. I was not really a fan of this pattern when it first came out and started it's craze on-line. It's nice and it looked good and I knew it wasn't hard to do but I just don't generally like variegated yarns. So I found this colorway of the ToFutsies in my stash, didn't know what to do with it. I was looking on my Ravelry and saw some Jaywalkers in different ToFutsie colors. I figured what the hell lets try. Lemme tall ya. I love it. I love the way the colors look, I love the pattern it is easy works up superfast and looks good. It is a little snug tho. I tried it on and I had to really fight to get it up over my heel and on my leg but once I did It is ok and I think a little fight is worth getting it on. I can't wait to see the whole sock done and try it on. Now I have at least 4 other pairs in mind to do this pattern on. No wonder there was such a craze about it. I have been converted.

So here is the result of my mangled Simply lovely lace socks from spring 2006 Ik I got so pissed that the pattern got ruined so I started on the toe (after incorrectly measuring the foot and thinking it was long enough) I just winged it and did the standard toe decreases and figured all would be ok. I got a copy of the mag from a friend and realized that my toe wasn't too off so I was good. Then I tried to put it on and it is about 3 inches too short in the foot. Ugh. Well they fit the 6 year old kid so they will be hers. At least I can make the mate not that I want to now but oh well.

Here are my finished sockapalooza socks. I have been having computer issues so I wasn't able to blog them before this. It is an open eyelet rib pattern, claudia's handpainted in John B colorway. I like the way they came out but not too fond of the differences in the two socks. I hope my pal doesn't mind them. They have been mailed so we will see what she thinks soon.

Little miss thing got a hold of my Spring 2006 IK and chewed on it( see ink on face) I'm not kidding that is ink from her eating the magazine. She ripped most of the mag up, I was like ok whatever until I got to my simply lovely lace socks pattern, which I have on the needles right now. I am at the toe of sock #1 and don't know what to do. I put a post up on Ravelry to see if anyone could help me out with a clean copy of the pattern and I got bitched at for trying to infringe on copyright. I called everyone I know and no one had that issues, they had the one before and the one after but not the Spring one. So I was about a millimeter from ripping and doing a different pattern when a kind soul offered to lend me her copy of the mag once she finds it so I can finish my socks. So to anyone reading this I am sorry if I offened you in anyway by asking for a copy or trying to infring on copyright. I did email the copyright office and they told me it was OK that if a work is published in collective work, i.e. magazine, that has to be purchased, that the owner of said mag is allowed to copy and use or share as long as it is not for profit or commercial use. At that point it is public and fair use. Same as me going to the library and making a copy of an article they have in a magazine there to use. Or the same as my printing off 3 copies of a knitty.com pattern to give to someone who doesn't have a computer. So I figured all was ok posted my message and of course everyone knows better and had issues with it. So I am sorry, I am going to finsh my sock, and I am borrowing a copy of someone's mag to do so, not a photocopy but the actual purchased copy and I will return it to said owner hopefully free or drool. :-) As soon as my home comp (I'm at work) is over the uploading issue I will put a pic of what I have so far up. Dummy me didn't take a pic of the wet ripped mag as hubby was "watching" the children and didn't see the baby eating my patterns, until it was too late to save so he tried to clean the mess up before I got home and there was no evidence. I did get some of the pattern and tried to tape it up but I was still missing the last page with the toe and the chart on it. Once this is done I'm making the brat a pair of these socks :-)

Remember my spinning issues? It was awful, trust me.

So the wonderful Shannon of Spinsanity Spindles took pity on me and said maybe it's your spindle. Let me send you a better one. And she did and I love it and I think it worked. I think I got it.

No knitting today. I did knit but it was way too hot to knit much. More on that tommorrow.
For now I have a fish story.
We went out to the camp my in-laws rent every summer in Stetson, ME.
My husband and his uncle and nephew went out on the boat to go catch some big ones.

My SIL boyfriend went snorkling and caught this Bass. With the net. No hook nothing. Just net baby.

I cannot put my hand in a tank with guppies in it, I cannot swim in water where I can see them (if I can't see them I'm ok), I can't go fishing. So hubby's out on boat, cousin wants pic, here Barbara hold it. Ugh the sad part is I would not have even done this for my husband I would have told him he was SOL but I don't know said cousin well enough to talk to him like that, I know said cousin does not like me, said cousin and hubby were very close until we got married, so I want said cousin to like me and to regain the closeness he had with hubby so what do I do. Touch a fish. I am so stupid and pathetic. I doubt it worked, I doubt he know what it cost me to touch that fish, I know he doesn't appreciate it, just laughs at me and thinks I'm princessy but I tried.

So knitting will resume tomorrow. I cannot touch my yarn until I am sure there is no fish stink on my hands. :-)

I really want to spin. I figured I would try a drop spindle first.

Me+ drafting+spinning=major unccordination.
I cannot walk and chew gum. I am the biggest clutz ever.
I cannot do this. I have tried and tried and tried.
Maybe it's because I am trying to teach myself. Maybe I need a visual. I don't know. But I can't get it. I get all tangled and fumbly.
What should I do? Keep trying, find someone who can to teach me, or call it a loss?

The jumble. I dont' think for my first attempt it is all that bad. But I don't think I am doing it right. I think I am doing it my way for ease and convience and not properly. Some might say that's ok. Not me. I am a real stickler for following directions and doing the right way. Then once I have mastered that I have no issue adapting it to fit me. I was going to get a wheel and try my hand at that. With this being such a failure I really don't think I should. From what I've heard you need to master the drop before the wheel and if I can't do this how can I expect to do a wheel?

Since I'm putting pics of my tats on Ravelry. I figured I would blog them as well.
So for anyone who cares here they are.

The little butterfly on my right foot. It has purple and white wings. This on is my most recent one. I would give birth without drugs before I would do this one again. This is the only one of my tats that hurt.

My tribal ankle band. This was my first tat and the heart on the other side is the very first one that was later made into this.

The lizard on my lower back. I love him his name is Herbie. I think I might have a cute sun put above him. He needs one.

The ankh on the base of my neck. I took a regular ankh in photo shop and bent it down to the heart this is what I got. I love this ultimate womanhood, motherhood, and all encompassing love.

Hopefully I will be able to find one I want of the girls names and get that one soon too.

I have been knitting I finished the Hufflepuff bookscarf for my Hogwarts sock pal. I forgot to take a pic of it. I started a Ravenclaw one for myself and hubby has requested a Gryffindor one. I love these so quick and easy.

Oh and BTW. I got an invite. That's right and invite to Ravelry!!!!

Knitting Content

Here is my progress on DomiKNITrix's little red ridding hoodie. Fast Easy knit. I love it I needed something mindless and this fit the bill. I am using Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Bulky in M075 Spice. It is a deep red color since I am not too big into the cherry red and it is a perfect color for me. I love and cannot wait to be done with it but alas I do have to work on my Socapalooza Four socks too and I am out of yarn. I am waiting for more to come in hopefully it is close to same dye lot. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Now.........

My Sockapalooza four socks. I think they are really cute. I am using Claudia's Handpainted in John B. The picture doesn't do it much justice as it is a very deep fall deserty colorway. Mauves, plums, greens, burnt oranges, and some brown tones. As you can see I have just turned the heel on sock 1 and am about to do the gusset. It is quick to knit I am doing a faux eyelet rib type pattern and it is wicked stretchy. OMG did I just use wicked I have lived in Maine too long. Holy cow that is such a New England term. Time to move.

Ok well that is all the knitting I am currently doing. My HP socks are done but I still cannot get stitch markers that I love I have made about 40 different ones and just haven't hit the right combo yet. Hopefully after I get back from NJ. Yes I am making another trip this weekend. I am leaving Friday to return Monday or Tuesday. So check out the new camera bag I got. It's so cute it looks like a little purse. Lana thinks it is her little purse. I have to hid it or she steals it from me. Mine.

Now my foray into gardening. I do not garden. I am not good at gardening. Plants hate me and they commit suicide around me. But I love them and I do try. So I have been dying for some lavender. I had to have some Lavender. So what do I get. A neat lavender hybrid type thing that doesn't have to be planted outside. I can keep in the house during the harsh Maine winter and hopefully it will survive. I also got Punky Violet Moon Tourein type thing that I hope to hang in my kitchen window. I don't know why but the picture just won't show up no matter what I do.

Ok off for now I have to go pack and get some stuff done and some sleep. Be back Monday or Tuesday.

Look What my wonderful hubby made me!!!

My very own wooden sock blockers. Of course I had to draw the template, size it, transfer it to the wood, he cut it out, I sanded it and put 4 coates of poly on it. I am so happy to have my own sock blockers. I love them!!!

Here are my completed entrelac socks. I will so hate to part with these. I love them and they are Harry! I do hope my pal loves them as much as I do.

Look what came today. I am so excited. Charmed Knits!!! I cannot wait to start one of my surprises for my pal out of this book. Woo hoo! off to knit.

Hogwarts update!

Almost done. I love these socks. I love this pattern and technique but with these colors it really has a Harry Potter feel to it. I will really hate to part with them.

I've been messing around with the Fimo. I came up with these for stitch markers but I'm not 100% sure I love them.

I did some on the diagonal to make an extra surprise but I'm still not sure I love them.

Here they are all together in their Hufflepuffiness. What do you think?

We Love Summer!!

Whoo sissy slow down!

We just got back from our trip to NJ and Mass. We had a good time and finally since I had another capable adult to drive I got to knit. progress to come

I can't wait for Prom to show this to her date!

While we were in NJ we went to go see my brother's band play. They were very good and it was a good time for all. Thank You again. It was so good to see everyone and hang out and have adult time.

Pal sock update

This is the yellow I bought it is the Blue Sky alpaca in Lemondrop. This was way not yellow enough so.......

It turned into this Yellow with a little help of Cushing Dye in Lemon. I love the way it turned out. I really love these entrelac socks so I thought I would be really nice and really spoil my pal and do a pair for her. Hopefully she will like them. They remind me of any of the Pittsburg team colors. LOL too bad she lives in the west it would be perfect and double the fun. This is all I was able to get done in the car. I ended up driving most of the way so I only got about an hour of real knitting time. Thats ok I got a good start and I will just have to work my butt off on them now. Sake wanted to be my Barker girl. See her modeling the yarn for me. :-)

We just got back from a quick trip to NJ. We left Thurday morning and got back last night.

Another trip to Build a Bear. Lana did have more fun this time around tho LOL. she got a cute flop eared bunny named Snuggles

Kiki got a Hello Kitty.

Kristen got her first Build a Bear for her 1st birthday named Peanut.

Poppy (my dad) and Kristen the party was just too much.

It was a great trip the kids were good. We loved being able to see everyone and I got a DVD system for the car so the drive was so much easier. Hubby and I are going back in 2 weeks since he couldn't come this time.

I joined the Hogwarts Sock Swap today.
I need another project or hobby like I need another hole in my head. LOL
This just looked too much fun and I love Harry Potter so I had to do this.

Look what we woke up to this morning!

Ugh I am so ready for the snow to end Hello! I thought this was over. It was close to 50 degrees sunny and the snow had all melted. What is up with this?

Lana is now fascinated by sissy's undies she has taken to putting them on over all of her clothes. How cute. Super baby!

Second try on entrelac sock. Guess what? I went up two needles sizes since I am using slightly bigger yarn and the first sock was too small. Nope now this one is too big. I think I am just not destined to have a pair of these socks. Oh well!

I think its time to make another booga j bag. Lets go get some Noro! I need a break.

It's an entrelac sock.

It is not as long as it should be but when I went to try it on it wouldn't fit so I said frig this and started the cuff. I got the cuff done and off the needles. I am so happy. Since it doesn't fit and it has been the Sock of Doom I brought it to my favorite people at the Best Yarn Shop Ever and gave it to them to hang up as a sample.

Finished with the tassels on it. Gone! The bad Karma and Mojo better go with it too. So if that isn't enough and I am a glutton for punishment, while I was there I got The Blue Sky Alpaca in a chocolate brown and a pink heather to do another pair, but this time instead of the pattern called for 1's I am using 3's and I got the toe done last night. Already I know this will be much better and easier and fit me. Let keep our fingers crossed.

All about finales.

My finale cake from course 2. Yes I made all those flowers and the butterflies by myself. And that is a lovely basket weave on the sides of the cake done by me!

This is Spunky Eclectic Sangria. After the sock of doom ( See above post) I needed a break so I got this Sangria and that glass (bottle) of white zinfandel and sat down to relax and watch the Godfather (yes I have never seen it) and I made individual toe socks out of this. Well they are no longer now as with the colors it looked like monster feet from Sesame Street and I just didn't like the flow. But it relaxed me and got the sock of doom off my mind. Now what do I make with this?

Kiki met the Easter bunny at a local restaurant we went to for dinner. Lana was petrified of the Easter bunny and cried the whole time we were eating dinner and buried her head in me. Poor Baby.

But when we got home all was OK when she could play with the kitty cat's new play cube tower thing. The kitties were not impressed. They wouldn't come near me the rest of the night they were so mad at me for letting her touch their home.

So here is my entrelac sock.

Here is the progress I have made. Not much I know. Wanna know why it has taken me so long to get this far? Lets put it this way these socks I have come to think are the socks of doom. Since I started them My life has gone to hell.

Since I started knitting them I have had nothing but problems. And not knitting problems. For the most part the knitting has gone smoothly. Just all friggin sorts of other problems.
1. The broken needle started it, then
2. My dog got run over and killed
(she ran out and I didn't know she got off the gated in porch at my mom's house and she made it to the street and got run over)
3. My brand spanking new $400 KitchenAid Pro 600 series died. While I was making the frosting for my afternoon class Sunday morning.
After class went back to linens n' things and got a replacement it was less then 3 weeks old and you just can't kill a KitchenAid Hello!
4. On the way home from class my van starts smoking and I have no heat.
5. It's not covered under the warranty and it cost me $485.00 to fix.
6. My favorite glasses which are just a year old break and that frame has been discontinued so I have to buy new ones.
another $160.00
7. My electric LitterMaid (kitty box) dies. They are $ 200 I went with the $30.00 scoop roll over box.
8. My office flooded this weekend and everything below 2 feet got soaked.
9. I get the smart idea to try my socks on and break another needle.
10. I fell and twisted a vertebrae in my back.

So this is why I have barely made any progress on these lovely socks. And I do love them. It is actually a very easy knit. I have not cursed them, I have not bad mouthed them, and I have worked on them at least a little everyday. But for some reason since I started knitting them bad things have happened to me. At least we are all healthy and OK. At this point I am now bound and determined that I will finish, they will not get the best of me. I will beat them and things will get better. And if they fit me I will wear them proudly and remember this point in my life forever with all the pain that is stitched into each rectangle. Then I will make more!

I want to cry and scream. Matter of fact I did cry and scream. Thank God the kids were in bed when this happened as I do not want them repeating what came out of my mouth.
I am so so very upset. I actually started crying. (hubby was giving me some funny looks and was quite concerned as this is very out of character for me)
Now I am not a stresser or a stressed out person. I roll. I don't do gauge (yes it has bitten me in the ass) but I feel that if I knit it and it doesn't fit me or who it is intended for then it was meant for someone else who it does fit. Not much bothers me I can make it work. But this was then end for me last night. I have had a shitty week and the fact that I couldn't start this right away pissed me off so I was so excited to start last night. Too Excited maybe.

Look what happened in less then 10 minutes of starting.

See the scrid of needle in the stitches and the one laying on top. They used to be joined.
I bought these Lantern Moon Ebony size 1 DPN's and this is the first time I used them. I had been dying to try a set of Lantern Moon I heard they were incredible to work with. I finally got me a set. I got the most awesome yarn ever and a way cool pattern. I rock these are going to kick ass. and I will knit them up so fast and easily. HA! Little did I know fate had a much crueler idea in store for me.

I bought them with Blue Sky alpaca to do the Entrelac socks in the new Interweave Knits

I cast on and all was going well. I was not pulling or forcing the stitches it was going easily this yarn is a dream to work with. I did not have to fight it or anything. I was so excited to do these as I have had to put it off for the past week since the ball winder went missing and I had to finish a hat for hubby. I got the ball winder last night from my mom's house where i left it (duh!) and was so excited to ball up the yarn and start these incredible socks. 10 Minutes later. 10 f**king minutes. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! I screamed cursed and started crying. Hubby now questions my sanity.

I was even too frustrated and upset to get up and look for my bamboo 1's. I think I am not intended to do these socks. Just posting this I want to cry again. Sob!!

She loves to hold stuff in her mouth like a little doggie. She also tries to stuff the extras down her shirt. I guess she wants to save them for later. LOL

Cake #2 from the decorating class. I like the look of this one but let me tell you do not. I repeat do NOT buy Dunkin Hines Moist Deluxe in Devil's Food Cake. That is what I used for this recipe and When I leveled it and cut off the top I tasted a piece of it. AbsoFREAKINGlutely disgusting. It tasted like black licorice. It was horrible. I thought so my mom thought so, my SIL and her BF thought so too. It wasn't just me. So as soon as I finished class I took it to hubby's work. Lol they ate it all. (Don't hate me, they loved it)

Hubby put together this Race car cupcake cake for my mom. It was her bosses birthday and she wanted something special since he races we thought this would be perfect. Hubby did a really good job. He is much more artistic then I could ever hope to be.

And finally a completed Mohawk Hat from DomiKNITrix. I love this it is so cool. Once we got past some minor difficulties it was a fast easy knit. I love doing it and I love the look of it. I did not love the 150+ pieces of green fringe that I had to attach but it still rocks. The intended nephew was not home since it is school break he was with his friends so I couldn't get a pic with it on him. As soon as he gets home I will. Hubby won't model any more for me. LOL
Now I am making the hat for hubby he really like the black base. No hair of course. But the rest will do just fine thank you. I have no problem with that since the hair is a pain to attach and the green shed everywhere anyway.

I did have some issues with the pattern but the lovely ladies at my new home and The DomiKnitrix herself helped me figure out the gussets. If anyone does try this, it is written a little tricky so be careful.

Here are the two loves of my life at their first father daughter Valentines dance. How cute are they? It was like little kid prom. It was so adorable. we did nails, hair, made corsages, boutonnieres all sorts of grown up stuff. It was a blast. Plus I did NOT, I repeat NOT cry (yeah me!) I was so proud!

Well we got our first real snow here the other day, see previous post. So I bundled the baby up in the 60 dollar jacket, ski pants, hat mittens, and boots and put her in the snow. Can anybody guess what she thought of the snow? She screamed and cried and would not let me put her down. Poor thing. Her sister did the same thing too, but she was like 3 first time she saw snow. Too cute.

I liked it but it seemed to not fit right and kept slipping back I just think I have a misshapen head. I used Lorna's Laces Bullfrogs and Butterflies in the Iris Garden colorway and I loved the colors and the feel but like I said it kept slipping back on me and I keep pulling it down over my ears. The patter in the new Knitty Calorimetry pattern which is pretty cool.

OK I Know it seems I am at again. I promise to blog and then disappear. But this time I have a legitimate excuse. Ok So 2 am Tuesday morning I woke up in horrendous pain. I mean I would rather be giving birth with no drugs then the pain I was in. Had no clue what was wrong. So 8 am kiddie off to school I go to the walk-in clinic as the Dr office is not open until 9. They tell me they cannot treat me until it is approved by the Dr office due to insurance. By the time all this get straightened out it is 9:20 I call Dr they tell me they can't approve it cuz they have an appointment open at 3:15. By this point I am sobbing I am in so much pain my whole left side of my face is swollen and I think I am dying. They really expect me to wait 6 hours to be seen. Are the Fucking Kidding Me. I go to work. I call again about 11:30 . I am sobbing so hard I can barely talk (now I have an incredibly high pain tolerance. I am not a wuss) I ask them if there is anything they can do I cannot wait another 4 hours. At the same time I am trying to take care of the baby. The nurse gets on the phone and tells me my only option is to go to the ER. Now we had a pretty good snow Monday and this is Tuesday there are accidents everywhere. Where I live in Maine is one of the biggest and best hospitals that everyone gets sent to. Great. Go to ER 12:00 Get Triage at 1:00, get put in room 1:30, nurse comes in 2:30 gives me vicodin and tells me Dr will be in soon, 3:00 nurse comes in I am still sobbing gives me 2 mind you 2 Oxycontin. 3:10 I am puking everywhere and still in pain plus sleepy I have been up since 2 am. 3:15 Dr comes in looks in my ear and says Oh My God Look at this you must be in a lot of pain. (DUH!) This is the worst abscess I have ever seen and it is all backed up. Great!! Wants to give me more pain pills. No Thank you Just pop it. 3:30 nurse comes back in and he put some numbing drops in my ear and the irrigates it and the tries to cut it open slightly. I still have blood running out of my ear and it is now Friday. At least the pain is somewhat gone. My face is still swollen. I cannot move my jaw and I have not eaten since Monday. I have been doped up and in lala land the past week and I plan to remain there the weekend too. Happy Healthy Knitting to all!

Snow

Well finally we are getting some snow. I mean it is January after all. Yup see my new ride. I joined mini-van mama hell. Funny story too I will tell it tomorrow and post some more pics. Side note last night we were all cranky and not feeling too well so while hubby was playing x-box the girls and I went in my room put on barnyard and cuddled on the bed. we all fell asleep and hubby thought it would be cute to take a pic. Hello to anyone who actually reads this. Sorry I have been away so long. I have had major issues with my DSL and then my computer got a virus so nothing worked and then you know life happens too. I have the 5 year old and now her activities (dance, girl scouts, etc.) plus the baby is now 14 months old and into everything. Its not like I can lay her down in the middle of the floor and use the computer LOL. She is walking and climbing and very curious to all things. It seems my computer will work all day long just about but then when the kids are actually in bed and I get some time to go on the computer the DSL is down. UGH. Sorry I have been gone so long I will try to be better and blog during the morning nap as that seems to be my best bet anyway.

So what's new. Let see. I just took a class at my local bead shop on beaded Christmas ornaments. I love these will make great gifts come next year and by starting now I might actually have them done by next X-mas. I left my camera at my mothers so you will have to wait until tomorrow to get some pics. I am working on a pair of turquoise and purple Lopi-lite mittens for a friends daughter. The first mitten will not even fit Kiki so I am starting over and remaking the whole thing I did not bother ripping as it is Lopi-lite and it sucks and breaks very easily so ripping is not an option I will just give it to Kiki to play with and start again. I made the very awesome pirate hat from Hello Yarn. Black and blood red. It was for hubby he requested it and it came out so rockin' I cannot even describe it. Guess what? It doesn't even fit the baby. I could not get my hands on the yarn it called for so I subbed and got it way wrong gauge wise. I have plans to make another one but haven't quite started yet. I used the yarn I got from Jenn at http://www.jchandmade.typepad.com/ it was lime and pink striped and matched Kiki's winter coat perfectly for mittens so that is what she got. I love them too. I've made other little things here and there. I cannot quite remember off the top of my head what I have done in like the past year. So if it comes to me and when I get pics tomorrow I will be back and post.

Well what have I been up to. Not too much really. I tried to go to school but that did not pan out. I started but then had to take a leave of absence until January. Everything for a reason right? So I have dealt with that for the past couple of weeks and now things are getting back to normal. So what am I working on.......

Two squares that I have made for the friendship afghan. I have to put up pics of the ones I got too. I just remembered that. Sorry.

Oh this. Well I tried to make a poodle. Keats saw this kit at Target and asked me to get it to make it for her. I did and I did. I was watching a show and this is what happened. I sewed the ears on the bottom of the head so that is upside down and backwards then I sewed the head to the butt, and upside down at the bottom of the butt not the top. Then I sewed the tail to the bottom of the head part so that instead of sticking up it is hanging down. After that I put it aside and called it a night. I tried to take the sewing out but with this type of yarn you cannot see the stitches so I could not get it off without cutting it off and afraid to do that as so to unravel the whole thing. LOL. I blame it on the fact that my little purple accessory bag with all my notions in it is gone. GONE. I got home from this last trip to NJ and I have not seen it since. I had it there and now I cannot find it. My sis says she did not find it in her house either so I do not know what happened to it. All my Chibi's my cable needles my Kacha counter my fave DPN's everything even my Lantern Moon sheepy tape measure. SOB!!! I am so lost. On top of that remember the 15 cables a panel sweater for my SIL well the Katcha counter was keeping track of my rows and now that I cannot look at it I don't know where I am row wise and have not worked on the sweater at all. On top of that I am almost done with the second river rapid sock but do not want to finish it as my chibi's and needle threaders are in that bag too and I cannot bear to kitchner with anything else. SOB!!! Hence the making stitch markers and not really knitting. The poodle came with all necessities in the kit even the needles so that was really why I tackled that.
The upside down backwards sewed to the butt head with out support. LOL way too funny.

BTW not that anyone needs to know or actually be told but I totally am so very stupid. I was getting out of moms truck wearing flip flops and caught my right foot big toe nail on her door and ripped it off. Wanna talk about pain. OMG. This is where the stupid part comes in. What am I upset about, crying about, hurt about. The fact that I ruined my pedicure and now my toes look funny. Plus it will take forever for the nail to grow back and look good and I won't be able to have a decent pedicure for months. Stupid right. But this is me and I like my feet and I like my feet to look pretty. So this really hurts me knowing that I have now have an ugly nasty deformed toe that will take forever to look right. I am so stupid Not to mention such a GIRL.

Finally it is a picture of the completed River Rapids sock with the sock swap dyed yarn from Ashley. Isn't this pattern perfect for this yarn and color. I am so in love with this. These blues are perfect for this pattern, it really looks like river rapids flowing.

On an incredibly Happy or Sad note. Today my baby turned 5. 5! I cannot believe it.

I feel so old.

I cannot believe I have a 5 year old. It still boggles my mind. She had a wonderful birthday and is very happy and very excited for school tomorrow. She went one day last week for a half day, then the next 3 days for half days and after labor day it is up to full days. She is so excited.

I have the rest of the second river rapids sock to do it is almost up to the heel. Also I joined the Sock Wars. I so cannot wait for that, it looks like total fun. Plus I joined the friendship afghan. You get a list of others who joined and then make a square to send to each person on the list. Then they all send you one square as well and in the end you should have enough squares for an afghan. I love stuff like this. It lets you connect with others in something that will last forever. It will be filled with memories. Well off to bed I have to get the little one up really early to get her ready and fed before she has to catch the bus. And if I dwell on it too long I will so start crying.
